ENHANCE YOUR ACADEMIC SKILLS
ADEPT 2008 Program
The ADEPT Program, an academic development and
enhancement program for tertiary study, is being offered to students studying
courses in The Graduate School of Business in 2008. The program, delivered in
two parts by highly qualified and experienced staff, provides assistance to
students who wish to further develop and enhance their academic and study
skills.

PART 2
Unit based component
Students in some units will receive additional study
skills support for both assignments and exams. In these units, the ADEPT
program staff will consult with academic unit leaders on a regular basis in
order to align sessions with unit study where possible. More information will
be provided by your lecturer at the beginning of semester.

Assignment Skills
Throughout the semester workshops will be delivered
targeting the skills you need to complete assignments in specific units such
as: searching databases and online journals, referencing, using Endnote, skills
in presenting, report writing, essay writing and analysing and responding to
assignment questions
ii) Exam Skills
You will be introduced to methods of summarising
lecture and study notes, understanding and analysing exam questions,
interpreting directive words and applying time management skills during exams.
Techniques for various types of exams, such as open book exams will be
discussed and applied in practical hands-on workshops.
